Original equipment on a Miyata 912?

I've been wanting to make my 1981 912 look as original as possible for a while. It's got what I think are the original pedals (MKS Sylvans) but did they come with leathered toe-clips? Mine are in tatters and I want to replace them. Was bar-tape just black cloth? Where there any reflectors in the spokes originally? Thanks!

1981 Miyata 912

If you join the Miyata group at Yahoo (Yahoo.com, go to groups, search for miyata), they have a 1981 color brochure with pics of a 912. It's black, and has toe clips, and purple (!) bar tape.

Sorry, the rest of the catalog downloaded, and it's a 1982.

The OEM toe clips were not leather covered on the 1981 model 912. MKS Sylvan are the original pedals. Bar tape was black cloth. Wheels had white/clear reflectors and there were front and rear reflectors mounted to the brake bolts.

If you have a pair of leather covered clips that you want to sell, PM me. I need a set for a restoration project.

It's still got the front & rear Cat Eye reflectors, I think I'll try to get into the Miyata group on Yahoo to figure out what kind of reflectors to find for the spokes.

The black Christophe-strapped toe clips are KKT size large clips and the leather has been worn down the the padding for the most part. They are also lightly peppered with rust, which is the main reason I'm looking to replace them. Hope I didn't get your hopes up!

They sell the leather covers separately if you can find some steel clips.

Does anyone have the 912 tidbits from the 1981 catalog? What saddle was original? I've got an Avocet on there right now.
