Anyone who knows this model?

What's up, all? I'm a Korean bicycle rider.

I saw this old bicycle at my grand father's home. It looks really old, but I guess I can ride it because the length of headset, stem and seatpost looked suitable for me.

I wonder how old this model is, how good it was. I was about to ask this bicycle to my grand father. He isn't here anymore. Thank you.

It's a Basso, that's a good thing. The "early" style Cinelli BB shell should help to date it, but I can't access my files right now. Anybody got that date range handy? Modolo brakes...looks like some good components, but please get rid of the QR seat binder bolt.

The component mix and amount of chrome suggest a mid-range, mid-1980s model. In which case it is possibly a Columbus SL tre-tubi model such as the Arenacia. There should a patent year stamped on the rear derailleur, near the cable housing entry point, that will narrow down the era. Also, check the brand of the rear dropouts.

Thank you for your answers.

I'm very curious if it would be safe to ride it. The appearance looks good. How can I test if it is rigid and strong enough?

Isn't there any one who rides a basso model or this kind of bike long long time ago...

Anyway, I appreciate you again. :-)

I'm sure the frame is safe if there are no signs of cracks or other defects. Steel is quite reliable in that respect. But as someone above has said, see if you can find proper fastener for the seat post: that quick release lever looks questionable. Also, if it has been sitting for a long time the rubber in the tires may be shot and you may want to re-grease all the bearings.
