Hi All!

It seems like Peugeots are sprouting all over these days! Not wanting to be left behind, two of 'em followed me home yesterday. No clue as to the vintage, etc., so if you could help with dating or other info,
I would appreciate it, very much. The man's bike has huret derailleurs, the woman's bike shimano. Both have alloy quick-release hubs and rims.

I must confess I didn't pay much for the pair, who joined a semi-vintage Specialized Rockhopper GS in coming home with me this weekend to join my growing stable.

Thank you,

John

John, both of your bikes wil have serial numbers stamped into the BB or rear chainstay. Can you post those for me.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

As best as I can make out, the Woman's bike is Y503 47219; the Men's bike is B 408 0267. I forgot to mention that the men's bike has an all chrome fork. Need's help, but that's what I like to do!

Thank you,

John

As one can read on the label, the mixte is a P18T, ca. 1980 successor to the popular UO-18. The frame size is 53cm. The men's is the corresponding P8 in the 60cm size. According to theories which have been expressed on this website, the mixte is a 1985, and the diamond frame is a 1984, but I would have expected 8 digits after the "B."

Mens bike is an '84. Fork has been replaced.
Ladies bike is an '85. Front wheel has been replaced.

Odds are the front wheels of those bikes are mixed up.
