'84 Olympics Colnago Master TT on C-list

https://miami.craigslist.org/bik/456509390.html

Regardless of his crazy price, might anyone be familiar with the potential authenticity of this machine?

Take care,

-Kurt

Well the Russians boycotted the 84 Olympics where the the US debuted the Huffy "Funny Bikes" that were built in secret. That and the fact that the bike has a later gruppo means that it is possibly an 88 Seoul Olympic bike.... How can it have history if it was never ridden?

Colnago DID build the bikes for the Russian team, so I am interested....

How are you dating it as a later gruppo? Looks like first-gen '84/5 C-Record to me.

One other thing - if my eyes do not fail me, I'm almost certain that's a Triomphe/Victory aero post (not the C-Record) due to the extra aluminum on the sides of the binder bolt.

My bad, I have wrong dates for the C-Record intro. I found some reference to 1980 Colnago Olympic AERO TT bikes last night, but no photos, maybe THEY were first before the US team but the US boycotted the 80 Olympics....

Can you contact the seller for the story?

Anyone else notice the 'scratched out' colnago-ish clover drawn on the signed photo?

Either Colnago was nipping on the cooking sherry that afternoon, or someone did one hell of a cheap fake

What about that signature and date??? Yeah, why would Colnago draw and then scratch out that clover pic?
