Beware of the 'other' Bianchi out there, too.

Great photo essay for the rest of us--thanks everyone!
Ricohman, that's an interesting combination of colours on your bike. Very elegant in my opinion.

When I first brought it home I wanted badly to ship it back to Marinoni for a re-paint but it has grown on me now.
I have no plans to go with a solid color and I enjoy the "nice home-made paint job" from my buddies on their modeern steeds.

Tuz,
Thank-you for posting, I have never seen a Marinoni with that seatstay treatment, very cool, I'd like to see your touring bike as well as more detailed shots of the forks and seatstay on your special. The 1996 I had had the same stay treatment and externally lugged fork as the early 90s bike I have seen so I am always anxious to see the more rare bikes like yours and the fleur de lis bikes.

Ok Cyclo, will do tomorrow morning. Glad you like!
Oh, I almost scored a 1976 Marinoni Pista, full campy record the other week. Damn! (but it was probably too small anyways)

Post pics of that too if you have any. I haven't seen to many older 'noni pistas, mine might even be the oldest I have seen now that I think about it.

Oh I just remembered this website. Apparently Marinoni apprenticed with Ugo DeRosa? Who knows... That would make the outcome of this thread a bit more legitimate
Here's a few pics. More on the site.
Owners name and his wifes on the stay caps!
Nice bridge
PS cyclo I don't have the pista... I almost scored it

Darn, how did you hear of the pista? If it was too small for you I guess that it would never work for me but man, a pista like Cyclo's in my size would be nice!

You know I'm confident there are TONS of 'nonis in Montréal. I mean Marinoni made 1000+ frames a year since '75 which principally sold in Québec (I'm guessing). Plus add that there was a velodrome during 15 years means many pistas around. I just need to dig for some older cyclists , but it's too bad the nearest velodrome is so far in London. BTW I've seen some Marinoni mountain bikes too

Wow, that is an exceptional machine! Thanks for the link Tuz... If you ever find a pre-1985 special in 62cm size let me know! I had a fellow contact me with a 58cm in Ottawa when I placed a wanted ad.. if only it were my size. I am looking for a machine to swap my super record group onto.

Currently a 58cm 1977 Pista on ebay missing original fork. https://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=320177852858
I contacted the seller and he insists he has double checked with Marinoni on that date and they say 1977.
it would seem some accidentally double stamped the 7? as marinonis from the 70s typically have 5 digit serial numbers.
Edit: There is also a fake 49cm Marinoni on ebay currently. This comes from Marinoni, I did the background check.

Ok folks, more pictures
details of the seatstay attachement, internal routing and a bit of the bridge (circonflex accent shape). At the chainstays the bridge is thin, flat and close to the ST (a brace?)
Detail of the internally lugged fork, you can barely see the brazing line.
Now the touring bike. Unsure of the year and tubing as the serial has been a bit marred with the derailleur cable, and couldn't find the right combination with Marinoni. I'll check the steer tube eventually. Has for the most part shimano XT components form 87-88-89. Also has Gipiemme cranks, Sachs ergo shifters (they're Campy really) and Suntour self-energizing rear brake. Quite uncommon those last two, don't know much about them
Nice details too. Usual Marinoni on the seat stay caps and "M"s on crown, lower headlug and BB. The bridges and crown are tapped (from below for the seat stay bridge) not drilled, and conversely the rack eyelets and low-rider BOs are drilled not tapped
Now let's see T-mar's marinoni!

i might as well get my 'Marinoni Corsa' track bike up here. i mean if my buddy Leigh has that beauty of his in this thread then i better get mine in.. i tried to track the exact year and production of this bike and although the people at the Marinoni factory were very helpful they could not find the work order for it. their best guess was that it is a 1991. campy track hubs with nisi rims, radial front 3x rear. cranks and headseat are gipiemme, BB is campy.

Eventually I want to send mine back for chrome on the stays and fork and probably molteni orange frame with black decals.

jet sanchEz: oh man don't repaint your italian themed one, Id have to say its the best looking marinoni here (though I really like cyclotoines 92), espcially dont paint it red; the worse (and most common) color on earth!
Here is mine, with its fantastica paint job... is sadly too small for me.. frame/fork for sale btw:

I must politely disagree with D&V, I like the single colours better, I think the three colour bikes look really budget, the transition between colours is particularly "back yard" in appearance on close inspection. Admittedly, Jet's bike is the bed of the 3-colour bikes I have seen and I would keep i that way. Here a 3 colour I owned but sold because I couldn't justify keeping it and the money it was worth was worth more to me. I disgustedly referred to it as the McDonalds bike.
You can't go wrong with solid red IMHO.

The decals I found for my Ciocc came and they are yellow, and really, the only colour of bike that looks good with yellow (in my opinion) is red, so I think I will have to make the Ciocc red and maybe the Marinoni will be black or I really like Cylco's navy blue, the decals that I got are the same.
Incidentally, are the decals on everyone's Marinoni on top of the clear-coat like mine are? The decals I received are basically stickers so they go on pretty thick, meaning a clear-coat on top may be a problem....is this correct?
Here are some pics of the Marinoni that inspired my idea for red:
