Bottom bracket for alleged 1988 Cannondale

I just bought a used Cannondale Criterium Series as a beater for around town. It is pretty hilly so I was thinking about a triple for it. It currently has Shimano 600, but I know I'll have to change out the bottom bracket. The guy who sold it to me said it was an '88 model due to the serial number. Anyone know what type bottom bracket this model would take?

it has more to do with what crank you are using than it does with the frame. I can tell you that on my '89 Cdale with Sugino VP cranks i used a 115 shimano bb, which seemed really long but came out just perfect. I think for a triple you are looking atleast 115 or greater.

Thanks for the reply. Did your Shimano BB have English threads?
