I love that bike. I vote you upgrade chainrings next. I would like to see something more traditional, something wth cutouts in it. Every time you post this bike it makes me rethink my future frame purchase.

the eventual plan would be to find a modern group in all polished silver (like campy chorus or older SRAM Rival) and then use the SRAM Red with a modern weight weenie carbon frame/build. But with the advent of SRAM 2012 it looks like I might just keep the current group on the RB-1 and then go with a totally new modern build (I think I missed my window in selling off the old SRAM Red group - its too low of a resale value to be worth selling off now).

Isnt most of the upgrade in the chain rings and front derailleur? Which means you can probably rock some shimano rings and a new red front dr (or a shimano dura ace) and come really close to the performance of the newest group. I am running SRAM force and I love it. You should stick with this group for the carbon build and rock campy athena 11 on the rb1 IMO.

Doesn't matter, now that you're here, you're pretty much done for, anyway..... This thread is for those frames, etc with modern drivetrains..i.e. Shimano STI's or Campagnolo Ergos, the Modolo's you see above, maybe some SRAM's. That bike is cool enough you can post it anywhere, but probably in the The New Classic Rigs and Rides Thread 1.1

Finally finished this bike. 1995 Olympia Fusari. Columbus EL-os
It would have had 8 speed but I opted for 9 speed Record. I used modern wheels "I like nice wheels" and I had bought a nice black Modolo stem on the bay but it never showed up so used a 3ttt Olympia panto stem from the 80's.

Also if you got a dura ace front derailleur and upgraded your old red cranks to the new ones I'm pretty sure the group would be just as good as the new stuff IMO
