Hey everybody!
I have been a longtime lurker of this thread, and I have been looking at all your beautiful bikes with much envy. I have been looking for a retro roadie myself, and to tell you the truth I'd rather buy it than build it myself. I wonder if any of you in the Greater Toronto Area might have one of these steel road bikes with modern shifting that you want to sell to me. I just can't stand the look of the modern aluminum and carbon stuff that's in the LBS. I love the classic look and ride of steel. I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I'd be looking for a 58 to 60cm ideally.
Thanks, and sweet bikes all!

Here's my Tange Infinity frameset MIELE I had painted in Italian colours for my Campagnolo components.
Veloce hubs (clincher rims), 9-speed cassette, chain, crankset and rear derailler, Mirage ergo levers and front derailler. Shimano Exage clipless pedals with grey finish and casting ridges removed and tyhen polished the pedals to a very high shine.

I was told that in blind test rides that racers couldn't tell the difference in ride quality between Tange Infinity and Columbus SL. Tange Infinity is seamed and a bit heavier than the seamless Columbus SL. My Tange Infinity Miele is a sweet ride.

I just picked up a pretty purple Miele with Light Action, but it's going to be 9-sp Ultegra. It, too, is Tange Infinity, has the chrome fork, and looks nearly identical to yours, other than the paint (which is fine, so I'll leave well enough alone). Thanks for posting yours, so I have something to look at while I do this.
And you and graywithchremium, welcome to the forum. For grey..... just keep looking at the CL ads, check the classifieds, and one will show up. If I had a 58cm, I'd build you one, but you are just too far away. I have no doubt someone in your area can hook you up.

Seen here:
It's my size, and I like the ride. I have thought of outfitting it with modern STI stuff, but I've been hesitant because of the dropout spacing (it's 126mm). Also I've never built a bike before and I don't think I have the right tools. I'll keep looking at CL/Kijiji.

[QUOTE=triggahiccups;16887266]Here's some better shots of the De Rosa. It has been turning heads during slow bits and intersection stops, but I try and keep all that to a minimum.

It took a little getting used to, but those brifters are alright.

Pretty sure this is barely passable for this thread, but why not.
Had this bike for a few years now, the 7 speed RSX components (dt shifters) worked wonderfully but I got a good deal on some 7800 series levers, so... the snowball started. New wheels due to 7spd cassette restriction on the RSX hubs, new chainrings due to the 7 speed rings not playing nice with the 10 speed chain *at all* (sheldon's 'rare' skating condition was present at almost all shifts), 6600 front derailleur because the RSX fd did not play very well with the 7800 shifters.
All in all, I spent way too much money and now have way too many gears. How do you guys know which one to pick?!?

Boy, has this page started out with a couple of winners! Holy cow, and MX Leader and a Cannondale Climber.
Both done very well, and pretty close to my size. You can ship them here for "approval."

The weather was awful, the cobbled roads challenging and often completely hidden underwater, but the spirit of the event was fantastic. It was quite a maiden voyage but the new maiden was brilliant.
The wheels are H+Son TB14 rims laced to White industries 11spd hubs. A little on the heavy side (1880g) but they roll and brake beautifully and the polished finish of the rims is excellent
