I'm in the process of building another Centurion Ironman for myself. This makes #4 I think? This will be my second with STI and first with any carbon. I recently got the frameset on ebay, sold the fork, went all Easton EC90 up front, and got a goodie bag from buddy RobbieTunes to help get the bits mounted. It's getting a Tiagra 10sp group and mavic ksyrium elites. Can't wait!

Hold out for the carbon post and get a weenie saddle, could be our first 18 lb Ironman... (since your Miami Vice tri-bike)

This picture does absolutely no justice, but its all I have at the moment. Its in the rebuild stage, it was fun keeping it vintage, but its too nice of a bike to not ride as hard as possible with.

My first experience with Microshift. This Paramount Series 3 OS was built for a customer who wanted to retain the 7 speed double but use STI type shifters. Microshift makes a very nice and modern looking setup for a 7 double that's Shimano compatible. Even though the RX100 FD was not originally designed for indexed shifting, everything works well together. I'm impressed!
Yes, those are Michelin Dynamic 28's on there. A little tight in the back and had to do some machining on the bottom of the fork crown in front, but they work.

great minds think alike. I have a Trek 400 for my wife Unknown if she'll stick with the stick friction down tube (doubtful) of if we modernize it. Odds are she will hate the DT and we do STI.

No issue at all, done it dozens of times and those bikes have literally tens of thousands of miles on them all told without an issue. No need to even re-align the dropouts. Conversion to 700c size wheels gives you the ability to fit up to a size 32 tire, but requires new brake calipers (Tektro 539's are ideal).
Am in the process right now of building up a travel bike using an 87 ST with new Shimano 105 5800 11 speed, compact crank and 11/32 rear cassette, which eliminates the need for a triple. For those who've been on the Forum for a few years, a reincarnation of The Yellow Submarine.

Latest version of my 1987 Prologue. Mainly Dura Ace 7700 (nine speed). Of course, the DA brifters died, so I installed nine speed Microshift. Crank is a hollow tech Tiagra compact (garage sale find!!). Wheels are tricolor. I do have a set of DA wheels, but I really like these, so I think I will stick with the mix.
I was planning to rebuilt the bike (for the fifth or sixth time) with DA 7400. But really, everything works well, so I think I will leave well enough alone.

Here is my resto-Mod Raleigh Technium PRE. I got it off Ebay about 3 years ago and now the only original pieces are the frame and fork!! I added FSA wheels, brakes, crankset. I found some carbon handlebars at a swap meet for $20, wet sanded and clear coated with lacquer. I added a triple right away. The second year I rode it I put on the wheels and a 8 speed cassette with an Altus Rear derailleur. I still used the friction downtube shifters! This year I added Sora STI shifters. I have put over 5000 miles on it and absolutely love it. I think some of the zippy guys in the local bike club think I am totally Fredly with this bike but I do not give an eff. My only plans for next year is to add a Sora rear derailleur and a new headset with black cups.
