Cooks brothers cranks worth 20$?

I might get an older set of Cooks Brothers cranks for the paltry sum of 20$. The length is 181 I think that would be fun to try. Are the chainrings a whacky bolt circle? Or is it just the spiders on these things?

The seller has mainly mountain bike stuff. If anybody is interested let me know. I will try to get as many derailleurs/ratchet thumb shifters as I possibly can. The guy seemed like he knew his stuff well but just wanted to make a few bucks. I hope I can make a good haul with a c-note. We'll see. Thanks for the replies and info.

I am guessing they are 110BCD MTB cranks, maybe a triple, but those would be just the same as a touring triple. Make sure there is no damage to them, like cracks around the spindle hole. If you end up not wanting them I would REALLY like them. I have been looking for a nice triple in 180mm for a very long time. And yes the price is damn good.

Definitely a good price.

If they are "older", as in made by the REAL Cook Bros in the 70's, they would be worth WAY more than $20!

I recently sold 3 NOS Cook Bros hubs for ... $1,167!!

But whatever "vintage" they are, it'll be the best $20 you ever spend on a bike part!

I look forward to and update when you have the cranks in your hot little hands!

Holy thread bump Robin!
That is the definition of a necropost. But now I'm curious- (Sorefeet, where are our updates?) - What/whom are/were Cooks Bros.? And could/may I/we see some of their stuff?

Cooks Brothers

I just happen to have a Cooks Bros triple on a mountain bike , recently gone single speed. I bought them in 94' , aside from a few scratches they are like new. Cooks were big in the early 80's in the bmx world. Me being and old mxer , when I saw these in a magazine I had to have a pair again. They are a black tubular crank that tapers tword where the pedal threads in, and they say COOKS BROTHERS RACING the length of the arm. You can also tear them down to just the arms , rings and spider all unbolt . I have never seen any one copy these ever. I'll try to get a few pics .
