Hmmmmm.... is it "worth" $400 - excellent question! Are you going to build it for yourself and ride it? If so and it fits, you could spend your money on worse things.

Also, consider that Tommasini still makes steel frames currently, so it might help to see how much they retail for when making your decision (probably $800 or so, I'll bet).

Were it me - if the frame was a dazzler and truly mint, I'd bite if I loved it. For anything that pretty and well made, the pain in the wallet will disappear long before the joy of ownership does. On the long term view, what does it matter if you paid $100 too much?

There are a couple on eBay right now, not too much $$$ at this point.
I think a new one would set you back at least $1000.

963 Euros for a Sintesi, fork extra:

Personally, I would not hesitate to pay $400 for an SLX frame that was in great condition and fit me, if it was to be my rider. They cost more than that in 1985.

I say go for it, and post pictures!

OR SO is your better bet, blems go for over $1,400, news over 16.It's a high demand bike.It doesn't matter that one likes them less than the older models(as I do) ..no chewin' down on those bikes,I've even tried, the bikes just get sold to the next iin line.

Well, at $300 (if you can swing a local pickup) is a done-deal/no-brainer/nothing-but-net kind of thing. Say a prayer that someone answers your plea to help - post a new thread with that as the title if need be to get attention. At $300, you NEED this frame.

I figured as much - I was throwing a dart when I came up with the $800 figure. Everything I've read says Tomassini's are amazing rides and wildly popular, so I'm not surprised to learn they go for high $$$.

Hell - I had to pay $250 for the Palo Alto frameset, and it is fairly pedestrian compared to a Tomassini.

As you can probably tell from my previous post-I'm looking to blow through some cash today, just don't want to do it TOO stupidly...
Did you ever sell this frame? Send me a picture and I can tell you what it is worth.

I think he was looking to buy, not sell.

I see that now - can't tell value without pictures to see the actual condition.
