    De Rosa Logo

Can anyone tell me what the different De Rosa O's stand for? Ive seen a few different variations of the O's in bikes for sale and would like to know what they mean. I have noted different shape hearts and just plane o and a wheel.

Different De Rosas. There are/were more than one Italian builder named 'De Rosa'.
There is only one Ugo De Rosa.

Caterham educated me on this, thanks, k.

So all Ugo De Rosa frames have the heart in a circle or are there differences here too?

in the 70's Ugo had a "D" within a heart logo headtube graphic and on some pantographed accessories

a few of his limited edition & anniversary issues have featured a red rose headtube graphic

afaik, with the exception of some very early examples (60's),seatstay caps use the heart within the "O" of "DE ROSA"
and fork crowns will usually feature the heart within the "o" or a bold heart graphic

fwiw, any time you see a spoked wheel or dot within a circle motif, it's the 'other guy'-DEROSA of Naples.

he would often have a stamped "DE ROSA" on the top of the btm bkt and feature a "D" on engraved parts
