    Modolo Brake Levers: Converting to Aero

    Just purchased NOS Modolo bolts on eBay to convert non-aero levers to aero.

    Haven't received them yet and the seller didn't respond to queries about installation.

    I've looked at my Modolo Pro levers but can't imagine where the hardware would go.

    Can anyone help?

    I think many of us would love to have been watching the end of the TdF in Paris--with our bikes no less .

    I don't know for a fact, but I can guess...the red roller mounts on the brass part. This whole portion replaces the current cable end holder in the lever. You then route the cable so the cable end is in the place where the casing/ferrule used to start, route the cable down in to the brake lever, around the red roller, through the hole in the silver piece, and then out the hole I assume you'll need to drill in the brake body.

    At least, that'd be the general idea I think.

    It's been a while since I've done this, but I believe Avenan is correct. The red pully replaces the cable carrier on the brass pivot bolt. The cable is then fed down through the hole in the top of the housing and around the pulley and out the back of the housing. The kit you have is a rebuild kit that provides for both options.

    My conversion was actually abandoned.

    I had difficulty removing the pivot bolt, which connects the lever to the grip, on my Pro levers. It never came out.

    To work properly it seems that the new hardware replaces the pivot bolt and the cable is routed thru the back of the brake grip.

    But to route thru the grip a hole was necessary. But none was there and I wasn't ready to start drilling.

    I concluded that this conversion kit was not for Pro levers.

    But alot of these have been sold on eBay so if someone has a different experience please do share it.
