Looks like a pretty good touring bike. Ask on the "touring" site...I'm sure you'll get a lot of good info.

Looks like a very small frame, maybe 19 inches? also the bottom bracket is really high - most poeple wanting a tourer want a lower BB.

There's something very wrong with that bike... is it the bottom bracket only? It looks like it's made for smaller tires.

The top tubes on the Trek's touring bikes in smaller sizes seem to be peculiarly long.
So, they're best for a rider with quite short legs and a rather long torso.
I suspect they may have done this simply to allow 27" or 700c wheels on all sizes.
Miyata just used smaller wheels on smaller frames and avoided the problem of odd proportions.

it is really weird looking..
it looks like there is 0mm of bottom bracket drop; the chainstays are almost parallel with the ground..
almost like it was designed for smaller wheels..
and yet the fork rake/headtube angle seem to be designed with an effort to minimize toe overlap with large wheels...

Haha, I wasn't going to buy it.
I just wanted to point it out to someone in the area and see what you guys thought.

Apparently it's funny looking.
Sweet! Haha.

Trek 520 are touring bikes - usually pretty standard geometry - 19 inch in not it's smallest. If you are in the market for a touring bike this is worth going to see. Some of this just be the angle of the pictures and the quality of pictures.
Do a google search and you'll get the geometry and if you get get the serial number you can get the year it was made. Not a bad example just not use to seeing white.

Trek 520s from about 1990-1991 used the same frame and geometry as their 700c upright bar hybrids, presumably as a cost saving measure. Yes the top tube is quite long, note the tiny stem in the pic; and the BB is a bit high.

I think they were unsure of the market for a touring bike and made these as a low risk gap filler.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal with the roof rack.
