Colnago Tecnos found for less than $500. Is it really for riders under 160 lbs?

I do not know if a circa 1996 frame qualifies as " classic", but I will ask the question here and in the Road Cycling Forum as well.

I found a beautiful Colnago Tecnos frame, original painting (only one small chip), Colnago Flash fork, lugs with Colnago engravings (the one connecting the top tube with the seat tube is chromed, chromed seatstays, Chris King headset and Campagnolo bottom bracket (I do not the Gruppo)

My LBS is selling it to me for a little less than US$500, but I am concerned about the weight limit that I have found in other Forums. Apparently the frame is recommended for riders under 160 lbs. I am between 165 and 170 lbs.I think the price is very good and this will not be my main bike, but should I be worried?

No, it's not the frame anyway, it's the wheels if anything.

Txs. I am between 5 and 10 pounds over the limit (which, BTW, I do not know if comes officialy from Colnago). Does it make a difference?

We'll need photos.

I will post them as soon as I get the frame. I am new at building classic bikes. What would you recommend to use?

I would like to get a classic Campagnolo Gruppo, but other than that, what wheelset, seatpost, saddle, stem and handlebar would you suggest?

If you are going classic campy, why not do it for the wheels and seat post as well? Make the bars and stem cinelli. Make sure the frame is a 54 and ship it dirctly to me.

Does anyone know if the weight limit is based on a concern that a) the frame will flex excessively, thus degrading performance, b) the frame will suffer a catastrophic failure, thus injuring the rider or c) somebody is worried about a lawsuit?

Mostly "c". That is an 8 speed record group in the pic, an excellent choice for this bike, as cyclotoine says.
