Another what is it thread
Any one know or have a clue what this frame is? It's local and I've seen it. Someone really loved it as it was outfitted with an strange mix of high end components. I just don't know if I should let it pass even if it is too big for me. Any clues?

Uber Goober
Just a guess from googling- I find Masi frames with heart cutouts and slots in the BB.

no not a masi, not even close.. probably reynolds 531, awesome flat fork crown, someone is probably going to get a good deal on an unknown but sweet handbuilt frame.

^+1^, the shape of the forkblades is a clue to it being (most likely) Reynolds 531, plus the seller says it's a Phillips BB shell. So this here's a UK frame and probably of a high grade, looks like good detailing on the rear dropouts...age? maybe late '70s/early '80s. Make? nothing I can see that really gives that away...still a mystery...

Just a note...........That frame is Joels at A1 Schwinn in Puyallup (3 blocks from me)and I was informed on Monday that they are selling the place and getting out of the biz. It has been a bike shop since at least the 70's maybe longer and they have alot of stuff coming out of the back room that hasn't seen the light of day in years. I'd watch that seller closely.....well I am anyways.

That sounds like an excellent suggestion .

Disraeli Gears
The lugs look very like the windowed Prugnat lugs on my Worksop Raleigh, circa 1984. But the long (Campagnolo?) rear dropouts, windows in the BB, and fork crown bespeak a more elite frame than mine is. Over the BB cable routing is also different.

In reply to the earlier post suggesting British manufacture.........I did a lil hunting on the ol' interwebby. Is it possible that it is a Bob Jackson? I have seen many pics with those cut out lugs. I have only found one pic of a bottom bracket and it wasn't cut out so it's still hard to tell.........Any more input?

in light of east hill's thread.. RIchard Sachs? That would be awesome, but I know it isn't because of the fork.
