Hey,
I posted in the folding bike forum some specific questions about my new vintage Bianchi Nealeco. Just in case people don't happen to frequent that forum I thought I'd post a pic here. So here it is!

Yay! Another bike! I've been almost desperate to find a folder for awhile.

Kelly: You are a sick man. I like you. You remind me of someone else ME :) Nice looking ride is that going to be your new commuter? :)

I think it will be in the rotation. I took it to the store this afternoon and it was a delight! The real purpose for it is when my GF and I go to Seattle on the Sounder or down to Portland. Much easier to transport by train and bus if the racks are full! BTW that means I need another one.:D

And yes I am a sick man.;):) What's next? A high wheeler (I've got my eye on one rotting as "yard art" downtown)? How 'bout a recumbent?:eek: Do they make C&V ones?:)

I have a Chiorda...at least I think that's how it's spelled. Just a re-branded Bianchi from what I have heard. SA 3-speed hub, brakes suck and are currently broken. Your's looks nice though, and the coaster brake is probably a good idea.

kpug505 I'm thinking that those aren't the original rims.How many spokes are in those?They look like "lowrider" wheels.I have a bike that looks very similiar that is a Hawk.I'll get some pics up here for a comparison.

Ya the brakes suck. I noticed right away how long they are. Skinny too! Lots of flex. I also noticed that because of the internal cable routing it's not only crappy to have that much housing (performance wise) but it gets caught up in the frame and yanks the rear brake out of whack when folded. Not cool. I'll take care of that! This isn't gonna be a racer or anything and being a folder and slow I think a coaster brake will be just fine. Less stuff to mess up in transport while folded. Have you had problems with the 3 speed and cable issues? I read somewhere in my super fast blitz of interweb folder intake that there can be issues. And not just with cables. The shifter thingy (whats that called?) hangin' off the rear hub getting knocked about.
Anyways.......I'm super stoked!

Ya they are raidially laced lowrider rims.:( Just plain junk! Maybe they will get slapped on a stingray clone for re-sale. Yes! Another bike!
I'm getting some 20" alloys hopefully Friday. That should be a major improvement. I'm thinking white walls too.

I have not had any problems with the 3-speed cable, however, I found that to fold it, you have to unscrew it from the hub.

I believe this was the "Safari" model. This is the only Chiorda 3-speed I have seen. There were single speeds (with coaster brakes I believe) and they were yellow.

Ah, I see! That would make sense. That way it wouldn't get tugged or bent.

I have an Atala folder that was a 3 speed, but changed it to a 5 speed, mine is heavy but a great commuter and running to the store kind of bike.

Someone one mentioned in my other thread that these came with a 2 piece crank that had pressed in cups. How did you get your crankset on there? It looks like a triple chainring set up to me in that pic of yours. Does it have a square taper bottom bracket?

I'd like to replace the crank on mine sometime, too, and I've got the BMX-style pressed-in cups with a 2-piece crank. My BB is not threaded- maybe yours is different- but you've got some better cranks than I have...

mine came threaded with a single chainring and cottered pins. i just replace with some stuff I had lying around. I have to manually change the chainring, no FD

That Atala is a different bike.It just looks similiar to yours.Completely different BB.
