Bridgestone RB-1 project bike
I have recently been looking at new bikes. After looking at all the carbon fiber 'wonder bikes' with their '4-spoke wheels' I decided to stick with my old friend, my 1991 Bridgestone RB-1 (the green and white one).
I am not a collector, I am fixing up the bike to ride. This week I stripped the frame and took it to the local powder coat shop. When it comes back it will be 'little red wagon' red. The bike is a mix of old and new components selected for an overweight middle aged cyclist who want to get back on the bike.
I'll post some pix after I complete the build.
Here are the specs:
1991 Bridgestone RB-1 Frame, Phil Wood 36H freewheel hubs, velocity white machined deep-V's, Conti Ultra Gatorskins 700x28, Deore XT rear derailleur, Dura Ace triple front derailleur, Ultegra 6503 triple crank with TA Alize 48-38-24 rings, 7 speed 13-24 freewheel, White Selle Italia Turbo Special saddle, SR Laprade seat post, old Look pedals. Stock Bridgestone stem, bars and brakes.
I have a Zefal frame fit pump but I am thinking about looking for a white Silca Impero with the campy head.
I cannot wait to get out and ride it.

That bikes beats all the "Carbon Wonder Bikes", IMHO!
