Since I am in France and did not want to deal with international shipping, I put this 1977 peugeot px10 on ebay.fr and look.

Bummer. The crankset alone is worth most of that.

I'll never understand why anyone would want a French bike.

Its in pretty poor condition, not too surprised about the ending price. We may know better about it but the average bidder can only go off appearances
If you replaced the chain, wrapped the bars and took a few more better detailed pictures you would have got a MUCH better price

I think you did well. What kind of price did you expect?

I picked up these two Peugeot's and neither was as much as you got. The person selling the pearl white 1987 Corbier was asking $70.

Interesting about the comment about Germany. The blue 1974 P8E was brought into the US by a teenager who was living in Germany back then. It still has the tag with the store name in Frankfurt on it. It was a one owner bike. The whitewall tires and tubes were original. The black tread was falling off those Michelins but I rode it 20 miles without a problem until new Michelins arrived by mail.

+1,

Every other garage or so probably has one on the wall, like Schwinn Conti's here in the mid-west.

Shhh! How do you think I score my best deals on eBay?

Seriously, a little bit of time spent cleaning a bike and taking some nice photos can greatly increase the selling price.

A PX10 is worth considerably more than your Peugeots.

Funny preconceptions about German bicycle culture.

I had seen the PX10 on ebay france, but I related with the bad condition rusty holes in the frame

I have to agree. I missed that it was a PX10 and it does appear to be one from the chrome on the chainstays.

I mean, it is a PX10. The name should sell itself. Whatever, I picked it up for a measly 15 Euro (some damn good bartering). I really wish it was my size so I could fix it up and cruse the streets of Paris with it. I just hope the person who picked it up does it justice--that is what I am more concerned about more so than the final price. I would love to find one of these baby's in my size. (for under 50 euro!!!!!)
