Strategies for expanding seat clamp
I've been swapping out seat posts between the Raleigh Competition and my new acquisition, an Austro Daimler Inter 10 (both 27.2mm). And I've noticed on the Raleigh that the seat clamp is slightly pinched, making posts a pain to remove and install.
Any tips on safely expanding the seat binder? Thanks.

You could slide a large flathead screwdriver between the ears of the seatlug and tap it to open it up a bit, but that's going to chip paint. If it's just tight or scratching the post, then the seattube just needs to be reamed. Good bike shops or a local framebuilder should be able to take care of this for you for cheaper than what the tool and cutting oil would cost you.

If it's just the ears, you may be able to use a seatpost that fits easily into the seattube to gently roll the ears back out.
