Bike Forums C&V Ride - Pennsylvania Edition

I've been talking to a few BF members about this idea and thought it would be fun to get together with our classics one weekend day for a nice 35 to 50 ride here in Pennsylvania's beautiful farm country.

This ride would be open to all BF riders in the area who want to make the trip. I figure that would be PA, NJ and Delaware. If this ride is fun and successful, I envision seeing BF C&V members from other states starting their own "Edition."

So, I'll just throw it out there. If you are interested in doing a Classic and Vintage ride here in PA, post your thoughts here. There are a few things we need to work out:

1. Who would like to attend?
2. Where in PA would you like to ride and how far?
3. The date of the ride.
4. And perhaps a few fun ideas like "classic clothing encouraged."

Let me know what you think.

Dan

I'm interested, but my summer schedule is a fragmented mess. If the ride is on a Sunday, I'd not attend, but if it's on a Saturday when I'm not otherwise committed, I would be willing to attend.

Distance and location not as important for me - as long as the number of hills is not insane.

May 31, June 14, August 9 and August 16 are the only Saturdays I don't have plans for already.

I would be interested. Date permitting, of course.

Not that we need to wait till Fall, but planning something around the Trexlertown Swap would make sense.

There was a CR ride just over the border in NJ not that long ago with a turnout of over 20 riders. I know there are also a couple more CR rides within a reasonable distance of the SE corner of Pennsylvania. I'll try and remember to post details as they approach. There is le cirque in 5 weeks which is always good for a ride.

I am planning a Lancaster County vintage ride for some time this summer/early fall, and will post in this forum when the details are ironed out.
Of course, that is certainly not meant to discourage the planning of other PA rides - the more the better, and I will try to attend any C&V ride that is put together.

That's the spirit! The more, the merrier!

I'd be down. Location and distance doesnt matter. I'm on a tour from May 23-June 6th. Other than that I'd most likely be able to attend.

I am in as well. Distance is not a concern. As long as I have enough of a heads up date is not an issue either. Location would be prfereable in the mid to eastern part of the state.

Looks like I'm the weak magnet, but obviously I'd prefer NE PA. However, I'm willing to drive a distance.

Unfortunately, May and June aren't very good for me, aside from a few days. I'll let you all decide the date and place and I'll try my best to make it.

It's starting to sound like August is the best month in which to accommodate the most riders. How about the main event in August this way we could have the highest attendance.

Then perhaps a more regular ride, say once or twice a month in different locations across PA. For example, we could ride near my home in Souderton on one weekend, meeting here, riding, then returning here for pizza and beer. Then in two weeks or so, we pick a new PA location. Like central PA and ride another member's favorite route.

Sounds like a blast and a great way to meet other C&V riders.
