I'm diggin' my Raleigh USA Technium!

This winter, I scored a Raleigh USA Technium road bike at our local thrift store.

Now, the snow has finally disappeared and I am riding her all over the place.

It didn't take too much to get her dialed in.

What a zippy ride! It is a light machine thanks to the aluminum/steel hybrid.

SHoosh. Pretty neat for a bike with 27' wheels (1980's?).

The Techniums are nice bikes. They got a bad rap from many about the alleged failures of the glued joints on them but this seems to have happened fairly rarely. I have two of them, and both show no signs of fatigue at the joints or elsewhere. I have a 400 and a Pre, the 400 is fairly smooth riding and the Pre is much stiffer and a harsher ride. Enjoy your new ride.

Thanks for the info and the pics. I don't know a lot about my Raleigh or the technium except that I like it. I notice on your black Technium that you replaced the brake levers (correct?).

Mine still has suicide braked levers and the cables are trad exterior routing.

The Pre came without suicide levers and had downtube shift levers stock. It is also lighter than the 400and has a 700 wheelset.
