On the back burner, but moving up...

Once Cirque is past and the Raleigh done, this is my next project...

I have new markings for it. What I have yet to decide is what color to paint it. I am not concerned with correct color. I am considering the Light Blue Metallic as seen below

But I am open to suggestions....

I'm biased, but these bikes do look real nice in white, and white was an original color.

I'm sure you've looked at the color chart here. Gitane did have two blues, too, although the first blue in that pic can't be quite right.

Is that a plain Nervex lugset with a Nervex Professional fork crown?

Gitane used Prugnat and Bocama lugs at this time (early 70's)

Interesting - where would that fork crown fit in the scheme of things, then?

Other than the inevitable variation due to reproduction of the chart and your moniter, why do you say that? As for the white...just does not do it for me.

re: the lugs

It would seem Gitane had no real rhyme or reason as to what the lugs or fork crowns were used. I have seen crowns and lugs both plainer and fancier on Gitane Super Corsas and TdFs of this time period. My SC is dated ca. 1971
