Man room update (off topic a little)

Not much going on with the Bianchi build so I'm working on the "MAN ROOM" I built in the basement. Its 12'X12' and I put prewired speaker oulets in two corners and outlets up the kazoo on a 20 amp circuit with 20 amp outlets. Its insulated all around as is the floor and ceiling. I'm going to put all my guitar stuff and most likely some bike related stuff too I'll have a L shaped counter 4feet on one wall and 6 feet on the other with a 45 degree corner piece for a computer. I finished up the drywall and textured the walls and ceiling today. Tomorrow I'll prime the drywall and hopefull this weekend I can get it painted in a MANLY blue color. I'm using a vinyl strip floor that looks like barn siding also very manly. I have lots of music posters and pictures signed by various favorite guitar pickers "ie James Taylor, Chet Atkins Jerry Reed and some other. I will get some bicycle posters too and in the winter when its too cold to work in the rest of the basement the bikestand will come in there and I can do some projects in there along with the trainer. I'll put on some George Thourogood or some Motor City madman Nugent and ride my butt off. Its gonna be cool. The wife has her sewing room so its time for the man room. Actually I have the run of the garage and the basement but this room will be different with a computer with dvd and all the goodies I can jam in there. I figure some nice little BOSE speakers will go quite nicely in the corners.

SB,

You've been hanging out at 50+ too much. "Man Room?" Those guys (and the few gals who post there) would be all over this.

Now tell C&V this is a "Vintage Bike and Guitar Workshop," we're behind you 100%!

Can I send you a signed copy of my triathalon number to frame and hang?

Ok it will be a bit of both I must admit. I'm going to do all my bike forum posting from this room and I will have the workstand in there during the winter months when its too cold to work in the rest of the basement. Oh yeah and I'm going to get myself a non polluter commuter bumper sticker for the door. Hows that workin for ya now? I'll have all my tour De Pierce numbers hanging in there and YES I would be proud to have one of your numbers to hang in a place of honor.

In our household for over 40-years we've called my part of the basement "the men's room".

Laddie, laddie, laddie ... life is also too short for small speakers, even if they are Bose. On the guitar side of things, I power extension cabinets (more speakers is good!) with my guitar amps, and when I'm on the trainer, those cabinets fill the room with either music, or a movie soundtrack if I've got one on, quite nicely. A 2x12 Celestion cab and a 2x10 Eminence Legend cab pumping out Metallica's "Kill 'Em All" record in a 17x13 space will make me pedal lots faster every time.

Speaking of big speakers, I may sell off my old Klipsch La Scala speakers, as they just don't fit any room in the new house and I could direct the money toward a nice old vintage Cinelli!

My wife and I were discussing colors for the man room and I told her I thought wanted a shade of green or blue thinking nothing else of it we later went to the hardware store and decided to look at paint samples. Well I decided on a certain shade of green actually a blue green. We had two gallons mixed and brought it home and when I took it down to the basement Lo and Behold its a near perfect match for the Celeste of my Bianchi frame. I didn't even think about it till then. Man I got the bike bug bad fer sure. When I paint the room I will post pictures its unreal
