I find the best deals when I am not looking
Last fall, I was really looking for a touring bike. However, the prices all seemed to be crazy. I couldn't find anything under $500 and anything that didn't require major repairs was going for much more. I gave up the search.
Last week I got a call from a friend who knew someone that was trying to sell a early 90s Trek 520 and a 94 Miyata 916. When I got there I was amazed at the condition of the bikes. I knew when I saw it that it was a late 80s model, since it didn't have bar-end shifters, but the 531 main tubes were what really caught my eye. It would apear to be a 1988.
