21 Speed Schwinn Le Tour 21 speed touring bike serial # 3026

Hello,
I live in the Northeast and been having trouble finding a moderately priced road bike. The bike has rsx components. Is that bad? Guy says he bought it 9 years ago new and thinks he paid $600 for it. He wants $200 for it. Say's he hardly ever rode it and claims it is mint.

Hmm.. The serial number should be longer than four digits; that sounds more like an assembly date. Since it's a 21-speed with Shimano RSX components, and the apparent assembly date is the 302nd day of 1996, my guess is that it's a 1997 model year Le Tour.

If it is a 1997 Le Tour and is in good shape, IMHO it's worth the $200 asking price.

From the 1997 catalog:

+1

If that indeed is the bike, I think it's a pretty good bike, and a pretty good buy at $200.
