That's strange, I've hooked up a friend of mine with a unique 'Luuk van Raalte' (framebuilder from Heiloo, now working at Vittorio), in green with a similar 'R' panto'd on the seatstaytops and frontlug.

I still regret selling my Reus, even though it went to another forum member.
I'm thinking that after I get my De Rosa on the road I'll have to look for another
De Reus. But then again I need to build up my Remy and get that one street worthy.

The buildquality of those Koga's continues to amaze me. Everything is so tight and tidy

haha, this lady politely offered a Zieleman to trade for two bottles of wine.

seems like she didn't knew what she had, the bidding shot up to 180 euro already.

I really wish she had just advertised it as "stupid old bike" since it's super close to me and I always have two bottles of nice wine for "emergencies" like this.

She says 'goede wijn'. Maybe she is more a wine connaisseur than a bike connaisseur

two cartons of that would make it the deal of the century. And a lesson in cheap alcoholic despair.

This weekend I picked up something special in Ulestraten near Maastricht (i planned to go to a retroride in the neighbourhood so i picked this one up). I was planning to use this bike for a super record conversion as a donor bike for my Nuovo Record Presto.. On the pictures of the advert I noticed a Gazelle pantograph front chain ring and a first generation sr rear mech. I bid 100. These guys were completely overwhelmed by the reactions from markplaats bidders. They were so polite to tell me that concerning my bid they had some problems with our little agreement since some people were already bidding vast more amounts for this bike. So I told them I understood and offered them 200 and they were so kind to agree and discontinue their classified.

Size is 54. Frame number 32* indicates 1980. The rear derraileur is actually a patent 76 Super record. This bike was sold by a former amateur cyclist tour de France mechanic the 50-60s Jan Willemsen from Nuth. I do not know just what I'll do with it. Insanely beautiful bike. Haven’t seen many Gazelle bikes with that many pantographs. Maybe I'll keep this bike for the group and wait for a proper sized period corect AA or 753 frame. Or maybe I'll swap with a Gazelle Champion Mondial collector for a SR group + some extras.

Check my flickr stream for further details. It's worth it;-) http://www.flickr.com/photos/dutchbi...7636044860025/

That's one special Gazelle, Wouter! The WC rainbows on the TT and below the bottlecage are a first for me. A special custom order or limited edition perhaps? Those old mechanics always have got the special ones. They're the ones with love for the machine instead of beating them up to get to certain speeds.

About the coolest Gazelle I have seen with all those almost over the top Pantoed parts but Ithink it just works.
The pristine condition is also a big bonus.

It is really very nice Wouter

I got a Gazelle panto'd crankset for ya! It's an SR, as in Sakae Royal
It came off a Gazelle Sprint, which was kinda cool with 531 frame tubes and Campy NR brake levers (for a song, but you had better catches than that ) I gave the frame to Theo's boys at the shop and they were rather pleased with it.

brw I can look for hours at that crank you posted

Rih will probably reopen this fall on another location in Amsterdam Noord

Good picture of vder Kaay on the right who will once again start to make frames and two of the new aspiring framebuilders/business associates.

Great news about RIH. Don, that crankset can be done by www.graveren.nl in Amsterdam then a little bit D.I.Y. Paintjob with model paint. Great stuff for the boring winter evenings.

that is Outstanding!

I wonder if they will still have the RIH Amsterdam head badge?
I may have to seriously consider ordering one to support the shop.
I have a question, on CR site it states that Mr van der Kaay joined shop in 1948?
does that sound right? He told Freek that my 1974 frame was one of the first he worked
on.

According to this little story the timeline would be.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyCYMEomx5I

1948 first time he came to the shop and ran a little errand ( he got herring for Schulte)
1955 After grandpa Bustraan died he was formerly asked to join the business
1972 He took over the business

So your frame in 1974 probably was one of the first he worked on himself as an owner but I assume he would have helped building frames and learned the trade in the period between 1955 and 1972

That Zieleman add for two bottles of wine showed that you should not 'believe' every add placed on Marktplaats - this was just a little trick - the 'woman' knew exactly what he or she had......

Don't understand it either - i was very 'impressed' that she apparently had no idea what 'she' was selling but perfectly managed to publish an accurate ct frame-size and mention the chrome front-fork in the ad

Here's my Sparta Cornwall, from the 80s best I can tell. I need to get an updated pic since I now have leather bags on the back.
