    So it is actually French carbon, but it was ridden by an actual Dutch PDM rider in the livery of a Dutch brand for a Dutch team… And I bought it from a Dutch shop where it has been sitting around unbuilt. So I reckon it counts!
    Cable housing is still a bit long and it usually won't sport fenders or lights, but I just couldn't wait to ride it today!

    French? I thought concorde was dutch (working on finishing my build of a aquila in pdm livery) but the higher end racing frames were built by italians?

    Concorde is a brand name of Veltec (or was until recently). It's the company that imports a great number of cycling brands for the dutch market (including Mavic, Selle Italia and Campagnolo, off the top of my head). They worked with many of the big Italian subcontractors, Torpado, BMZ, even Pelizotti at some point. they got quite famous because of the PDM team. In this case, Vitus was one of the early adopters of carbon tech, and French, so Veltec had to look somewhere else to get the frames. Unless this a rebranded ALAN carbonio, but I don't think that that is the case.
    Pass the Dutchie on the non-drive side.
    Rather a 100$ bike with 1000$ wheels than a 1000$ bike with 100$ wheels.

    Ah, I missed the word carbon in the previous post. Still a traditional looking frame, so carbon didn't cross my mind and I was thinking steel. My bad.

    I wish I knew who the rider was! But sadly I've yet to figure that out…
    It is a TVT frame that was rebranded, but yes all the steel Concorde team bikes were made in Italy.

    Ever since b dub showed his Van Herwerden here I've been on the lookout for one. But they don't come up for sale very often, and when they do, they're not cheap. At least not my kinda cheap.
    So when this showed up with an asking price of €30 and a few bids of up to €45, I called, made a better offer and secured the deal.



    It's a 62cm 'Criterium', made in Italy by either Zullo or Chesini for Van Herwerden. It has the weirdest mix of parts I've seen on a single bike so far:

    - Campagnolo GS RD
    - Suntour Mountech FD
    - Weinmann nutted brake calipers
    - Shimano Exage crankset and brake levers
    - Nisi Toro rims on steel FB hubs
    - SR Laprade seatpost
    - 3ttt stem and Cinelli CdM bars (with electrician's tape)
    - Simplex shifters (the ugliest I've ever seen)

    Thanks guys. Yes, the frame is really nice, but it deserves a high-end late eighties Campagnolo or Shimano gruppo. And a good clean.

    BTW, the frame carries a generic Columbus sticker. Anyone know what it could be? The Cinelli bottom bracket shell says 'SL P'. A clue, maybe?

    Great score that vHerwerden! Cool frame details. Looks like a very steep angle on the headtube&fork, and either that's a short toptube or it's bigger than 60cm I reckon.

    btw FB hubs? Never heard of those.

    Thanks. The 60 is the C-C measurement. Seems the Italians preferred to measure that way. It's 62 C-T. FB stands for Fratelli Brivio, and I've read somewhere they made hubs for Campagnolo as well.
    I've just been Googling a bit, and I'm sure it's a Chesini-built frame. The SLP probably stands for a mixture of SL and SP tubing. Chesini often mixed their tubing. That explains the generic Columbus decal too.
    I haven't been able to find an exact match with a Chesini model, so for now I'm assuming Van Herwerden had them made tot their own specifications. Especially since they sold them alongside Chesini's in their shop in those days.

    Can I post this one here even though the only things actually dutch about it are the name on the decals and engraved in the dropout?

    Decals say 88-89 PDM world cup team, so would that mean it's probably a 1990?

    In that size, I'd say it more Dutch than Italian

    I think the Manus brinkmans had many disguises..but this Gazelle was the best one I could pick up.
    Just loved that colour!
