Mavic gold annodized tubular rims w/Campy hubs

I thought these might go with my Alan Shorter but I've never ridden tubular. What happens if I get a flat?

I intend to sell off the MA2 27" rims, and perhaps the entire Campy hub wheelset. A 700c version went for $500 this month! The main reason is I had a blowout on Monday because the MA2 rims aren't hooked enough. The Alan Shorter also had tubular (700 size) originally.

I figure the worst case scenario is I sell the gold rims and get the hubs relaced with 700c. I suspect the rims may have some collector value. Unfortunately the seller says the labels are gone.

I saw those on CL, I actually need a 27" wheelset for a Proteus I'm working on! If you're interested in trading, I've got some 4.5" Kreitler rollers that need a new home.

Golden anodized Mavics were maybe Oro 10 rims. I have a set, nice rims.

If you have a flat with a tubular, you put on the pre glued spare you have folded under your seat, and pump it up with your Silca frame pump.

You'd probably get a good price for your 27" wheelset as well. I had to pay through the nose to get these for the Paramount:

Kurt, last Winter I told Redxj to tell you about the set he had. He ended up selling them on eBay to none other than redneckwes for half that. They were Record hubs on Gentlemn rims, if I remeber. Redneckwes or Redxj will correct me. Heck of a deal for redneck, I think I talked him into bidding. Now if he would just buy a frame worthy of them

I'd hope to make a killing. I have some Campy high flange hubs that are badly in need of polishing and my 6" bench buffer is on back order. If they come out ok I'll cost $140 to have Sun M13II rims laced to them.

The AS bike rides great but watching the tire bulge while frantically trying to stop and unclip was not fun. I do get flats commuting. I took her to the LBS that day and got complements
