'87 Trek 1000 Braze-on FD Bracket?
My friend has a Trek, 1987 or so, of the bonded aluminum construction which has a "braze-on" front derailleur that's attached to a small bracket which is bolted to threaded inserts in the seat tube. Now I've acquired a similar bike, a 1987 Trek 1000, but the little bracket is missing. Instead, the bike has a clamp-on derailleur. I'd like to return the bike to its original configuration. The threaded inserts are there but I have no idea what the real name of the little bracket is, or where to get one. Can anyone help with either question?
Regards,
Bob P.

Thanks for the link, Bob. Nova calls the part a "derailleur boss" and it looks to me as though their "weld-on" model could be drilled for screw attachment.
