That's gonna depend on your market. Here in Portland it would be worth a fair bit. Being that you're in Newfoundland and St John's is the biggest market at 100,000 people I'm guessing it's not worth a huge amount. It's a very nice bike, though. So, who knows?

What would the cost be to ship something like this to the US from here? Say if I ebay'd it.

Would it be a sin to modify this bike in any way? Gear? Paint?

If you were to flip it, I'd say it's worth $51. Don't be a d-bag.

Wow, you certainly did not get hosed on that bike. Lucky you!

The seat position is obviously not in the lowest position based on the photos. The handles (stem) appears to be in a fairly high position. Unscrew the stem bolt a couple of turns (not all the way), give the top of the bolt a mild tap with a hammer and the stem should loosen up for you to raise or lower. There is a line on the stem showing the maximium you can raise it.

The previous owner obviously road the bike AND took very good care of it. The bike tells a story of a love relationship between the owner and the bike. I wonder what happened to make him/her get rid of it. I dig the groovy green rear tires.

Hey, about changing the white leather grip tape - if you want to change the color go ahead. If it really is leather, can I have it after you remove it? I'll put it on my white Peugeot!

I'm just asking some honest questions here, if you're only going to post this kind of crap then keep it to yourself.

Thanks for the response mike.

People would try to sell that bike for +300$ here in Montreal. Low-end road bikes in questionable shape go for 125$.

Personally I would just hold onto the bike and enjoy the ride! I would also leave it all original, but it is your bike.

I just find it rather sad to waste time getting all these helpful people excited for you over your new bike, only to turn and essentially ask them how to sell it for you. I will post as I see fit, thank you.

It's a nice bike. You got a hell of a deal. Ask all your questions you want about how stuff works. Learn. From there, you can move on. I just don't get the point of being so hasty. Feel free to continue to disagree, but I think only a fool would give up on such a score so quickly. This is all I meant.

Believe me I'm not giving up on anything and I don't plan on selling the bike. Someone had mentioned to me once about flipping it and I was just curious about what I could get for it if I did decide to go that route. I'm not selling the bike, and more than likely will not change anything on the bike. My plans as of right now are to keep the bike and clean it up to the point of it looking brand new, and then riding the hell out of it.

Feel free to post as you see fit, all I'm asking is to consider the other person before posting a derogatory remark.
