Flipped my Nishiki for $125 <big grin>

Well, after I fixed up the Nishiki I paid $15 for, I rode it for about 250 miles and thoroughly enjoyed it! However, I decided to see what it was worth, so I posted it on Craig's List for $150. Ten minutes after posting, I got two phone calls! One was from a young high school boy, and his dad was a road biker. After an examination and ride, he wanted it! I did go soft a little, since he was a cross country runner and his dad was knowledgeable on bikes. I cut the price to $125 and the young man paid with his own money! I hated to see it go, but I know it will be enjoyed and treasured.

Here is what the bike looks like now:

Sharp looking bike - you could have gotten more, but I think you did alright for your $15, and the buyers got a really nice bike for $125. Was that a Sugino 110/74 triple crank with the granny gear removed and a Suntour drivetrain? Ideal sport/touring bike.

Wow, that is a nice bike, that kid got a great deal. In 20 years, he will fondly remember shelling out big bucks for his first nice bike; maybe you will even make an appearance in his memories

To quote Ed McMahon, You are correct Sir! Sugino VP 110/74 crank, it came with the 52/42 rings, but has the bosses for a granny gear, and the rear derailleur/shifters is Shimano Light Action, very sweet shifting! I hated letting it go, but now I can look for my next great deal!
