Bianchi & Trek 610
OK, had a dumb accident back on the 4th, which I laughed through and rolled still holding on to the expensive Bianchi top tube. All was fine until some one took the bike out of my hand. Ah, I couldn't get up. Really hammered my right hip.
The Bianchi was fine, it was a loan from a client who had heard about this 67 year old out to get more bike lanes and commute 50mi a day. It was a loan for while in training, and my old sweet Trek was in for overhaul. I liked the the modern feel, yet found it a little stiff, even though I like stiff bikes. Funny that the Bianchi looks bigger, even though it is same 59cm size. And the Trek has a longer wheel base, yet looks petite in comparison. Bravo to vintage.
Well, today, after almost 3 weeks laid up, I had to get out there or go crazy. I did a few mi on the Bianchi and came back to get the Trek. What a difference, the Trek was very forgiving and yet responsive were the Bianchi was as not as fluid.
And I think it would be great to have a stable of bikes to ride.

But I have never thought of my Trek 610 as a comfy, cushy, compliant bike, and especially not with fluid handling! That Bianchi must be stiff stiff stiff!

Trek smooth, Bianchi sharp
To me the Trek, might have been old friend familiar, and not the sharp, hard response of the Bianchi which I also enjoy.

recovering ...
Thanks for the thought about recovery. I'm sure we all have had to wait these things out and get back on the road. JAK
