Which cup, fixed or adjustable?

Because of the right-hand threading, French fixed cups are prone to coming loose; that, and the fact that they're hard to find, are their main shortcomings. You really need to crank down the fixed cup, but just greasing the threads should be sufficient. Locktite should not be necessary. If it's the adjustable cup coming loose I'd guess you haven't put enough torque on the lockring. You are using a lockring, right?

Locktight might help: use the blue, the red requires heat to release!

I have never had a problem with French fixed cups coming loose; I always put a lot of torque on them to prevent it happening. Apparently the thin white teflon tape that plumbers use (or whoever uses it?!) helps a persistently unscrewing cup, though I've never had to try it, so I can't say either way whether it actually works or not.
