Does yours look like this? Solid bike with good working, long lasting, components. Not a race bike but a good all around bike. The hi-ten steel frame is heavier than a Reynolds race bike frame but will ride just fine. The Suntour derailleurs will shift well forever. The steel wheels are heavier than good alloy wheels but will hold true. Just be aware that wet stopping distances won't be as good.

that's the bike, thanks for the info. i found out from the FUJI serial# thread that my bike was made in January 1979. i plan to have it looked over by my LBS and ride it on long/exploring weekend rides. weight is not rely an issue for me since i ride for fun and fitness. glad to hear the components are quality. thanks again for the post.

Glad to help.

But now you have to post pictures of your bike. With closeups of the components. And with serial number.

Definitely. But first I want to get it cleaned up. Also, the bike has no saddle so I just ordered a Brooks saddle (B17 Honey). The bike's color is maroon, I think the leather saddle and honey color will compliment the age of the bike. I'm also interested to know if the saddle lives up to the reviews. I hope so, who wouldn't want a more comfortable ride.

I've got a Brooks B17 on my Gran Tourer. I really love riding this bike, I find it very fun for spinning round town, running errands and so forth. Nice relaxed ride.
