Almost bought this Paramount

https://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...:B:WNA:CA:1123

Came this close to placing what would've been the winning bid. But I was afraid the 14-19 rear cogs wouldn't give me a low enough gear. And how tough would it be to find gold-plated replacement components should I ever want to change them? Still, sure is a pretty bike. Sigh.

My first thought was 'That bike has not been ridden much, if at all'. That was confirmed by the ad! I would be afraid to ride the bike, myself...

Still, it has a certain flair.

Love it, but I don't think I'd have been riding it anywhere that I'd be worried about the gearing.

Think I should've gone for it? Did the final price seem reasonable to you folks?

WOW... I have not seen that much gold since Mr. T was on the A-Team.

Price seems reasonable to me for a bike in that condition. You don't see them everyday.

How could you possibly know that? The final price reflects what the next highest bidder bid plus some increment. The high bidder may have bid several times what it sold for.

^ Good point. I should've said I would have bid a bit higher than the winning bid.

Wow, a looker with all that oro. That silver chain looks out of place though-- the new owner should toss a gold one on it.

I think it would have been a much higher ending bid if that bike had been in the USA. Only 12 bidders seems really low for a bike so rare.

It is nice.
