Help me identify this Peugeot
I picked this Peugeot up today at the local thrift store for $14.99. Am I correct in identifying this as a 1985 PGN10? I've been searching through the archives here and think that's it. It has the internal seatpost clamp. It also came with Wolber T 430 rims, Shimano 105 hubs, Weinmann 405 brakes, a Sachs FD and a Shimano RD of some kind. What kind of crank is that? Also, what would the correct front and rear derailleurs be? Any idea as to where this fits in the Peugeot lineup? Thanks for your help.

Well, I answered some of my questions. The crank is a Sugino. I disassembled everything tonight, but ran into a couple of problems. First, the fork is bent. I can't find any damage on the frame. Is it possible to bend a fork and not bend the frame? The bend is inside the steerer tube.
Second, the internal clamping seatpost is stuck. Any magic in getting this unstuck? I loosened the bolt and ran some penetrating oil. Nothing else was rusted in place. Help!
Thanks

I'd call that the steal of the week. I dont get it, thrift stores in Tamap sell junk for $50-60. The PGN is straight race bike with geometry that virtualy identicle to the top of the line bikes.
Metallic black makes it an '85.

miamijim,
Not rubbing it in, but I found the bike about 35 miles north of Tampa! But it does have a bad fork as I mentioned above. Where are you in Tampa? I'm in Spring Hill, or as the kids call it, Spring Hell.
BTW, thanks for the links!

Ok, I'm down to the lye solution to get the seatpost out. Tried everything I had and even my LBS took a shot. Nothing! So it's sitting on the patio steaming and boiling away. Wish me luck! Of course, now I have to find a replacement. And a replacement fork, also.
