Unknown ID please? Big pics and part details inside

My inheritance:

Old Dia-Compe brakes, front and back, brake levers on bars are also made by DC.

Brevete pedals with toe straps. White leather fastener straps are in good shape.

Aluminum rims, I know 'cause most everything else on this bike is rusted. Bike's steel-framed, obviously.

Dry rotted IRCs.

I thought the way the frame was put together was interesting. Like the rear by the seat post.

I don't know anything about frame geometry yet, but I know what it means.

No stamping, decals, numbers, nothing, not even on the bottom of the frame.

I'm interested in what classification this is.. I assume vintage road bike. I'm curious as to whether I
should put more than a little money and time into it, or if I should look at something newer.

There's vintage, and there's junk is what I'm saying.

My apologies for the giant pictures.

Thank you for your time.

Looks to be along the lines of a Huffy or Murray, very low end. Clean it up but don't put any money into it.

Awesome replies. The search continues. Thought I'd do some homework before I get a bike going. Thank you.
