WTB - Tubular Wheels - Campy, Ambrosio, Mavic, etc.

New member looking for classic tubular wheelset to finish my mid80s Eddy Merckx. Bike has Campy C Record, so would prefer these or other Campy hubs to work with my 7 speed Regina freewheel. Prefer 36 spokes.

Willing to work a deal so I can get these quickly and hit the road!

Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't know about quick, but I have a the hubs, unused but a bit shopworn. I'd have to check about the spoke drillings. These are unused, and should benefit from hand polishing.

I'm sure you can find a set of N Record or S Record -hubbed wheels on Ebay, but you won't have them sooner than a week, most likely.

What kind of rims do you want to use, or at least, what color - bare aluminum or anodized?

just to be clear: you have a 7-spd freewheel, is the rear spacing 126? I don't think C-record hubs were FW compatible, but rather Campy-cassette items (could be wrong)..if so you'll be looking for older Campy hubs.

C-record was introed in 1984 and in use on pro bikes in 1983 (at least the derailleurs anyway). There are lots of thread on freewheels C-record hubs out there, I have a set that are thread on, they were available in both 126 and 130 spacing with freewheels. I am thinking of building mine up and using an 8 speed falcon (garbage but they are hanging around the shop and will never be used) freewheel as they are 130mm spaced.

I have a set I'd like to part with. They have low flange Campagnolo Record hubs. The rear is threaded for a freewheel and spaced at 126mm. Unfortunately the tires are different (one new the other in great shape) and the Mavic rims also do not match exactly. I'd be willing to make a good deal + the actual cost to ship. PM me if you are interested and I'll take some pictures and send your way.

I just checked and you are wrong - my hubs WILL accept a 6/7 freewheel, and the rear spacing is 126, and has been since I got them new. They have the same dimensions (OLD, flange spacing, dish, freewheel thread diameter and length) as my SR hub. Same for the fronts. These are road hubs.

Tubular wheels

Thanks for the reply. What are you asking for hubs? I could use either aluminum or anodized, but think I would prefer the anodized. The Campy Victory Strada rims look nice to me, just to give you an idea of what I'm thinking about.

Thanks again for your message.
