Are either of these worth it? Entry level Raleigh/Peugeot
I'm thinking of getting something other to ride than my Competition for errands, etc. They're both on Craigslist and in the pictures they look ok but they're not good enough to see any details. Assuming both are in good condition, any thoughts?
Raleigh Grand Prix: Suntour components,front and rear quick release,a 59cm frame,57cm toptube and a 34"standover.Ready for new griptape. $115.00
Peugeot:
Nice French ride with Simplex shifters,derailers and skewers,leather saddle,Mafac brakes,a 57cm frame and toptube and a 32.5"standover. 10 Spd. new chain, pedals $125.00

the peugeot is a great deal for $125 if it's in nice shape -- they easily go for twice that. The odds are, by the time you get your answers here, both will be sold.
As to any ride-able $15 bike from any of the decent makers -- why even ask? You should be in the car and there already buying it. Someone else sure is -- and they'll sell it next week for $150.
(I see now you've corrected the price to $115 -- which makes more sense. With that -- I'd choose the Peugeot).

Bikes: like 15. my favorite a 1951 schwinn spitfire cruiser. also have a 1959 amf roadmaster, 1962 jch deluxe cruiser among others.

nice rides. ask yourself, are they worth it for you at that price? the peugeot probably a little more coveted than the raleigh. i own a peugeot, so i may just be biased.
when my wife took me to louisville last august wish i coulda checked out the used bike scene more than i did, but i woulda had to ship whatever i bought back to cali.

+1 Dirtdrop hit it right on. No bike is a bargain for you if it isn't the right size. One of these should fit you better and that's the answer to your question as to which is the better buy.
EDIT: Bring a measuring tape. Could be my old eyes, but those bikes look to me like a two size difference, not one. I'd verify the seat tube size.

While I have two mid 70s Peugeots, I would base any decision on just a few factors:
1. Since they are two significantly different sizes, which one fits? I can't see both of them fitting the same person. Not sure which is correct, the frame sizes or the standover. Hard to believe 2 cm in frame size = 1 1/2 inches in standover, as there are 2 1/2 cms in an inch. Pictures look like there is more than 2cm difference in frame size. Size/fit is a deal breaker.
2. Does either bike have the usual upgrades: in particular, aluminum rims and cotterless aluminum crankset?
3. Rust? Pull the seat post, look down the inside of the seat tube for the dreaded rust. Depending on what you see, that would be the clincher to me.
As far as components, the Simplex unit on the UO8 is really bottom end, I kind of like Suntour.
All that being said, I like my 1975 UO8, and with alloy upgrades, it is a pretty light bike for that era (I moved "up" from a Schwinn Continental to the UO8 in 1975 when my 1972 Continental was stolen).
The price for either bike sounds reasonable, assuming bikes are in ready to ride condition.
Enjoy either one!!

Buy the one that fits. I love Peugeots, but a bike that is the wrong size, as Dirtdrop said... is not much fun.
And, absent any generator braze-ons, it's an early 70's UO-8. Stickered head tube I betcha.
