Vent noir
Hey fellas, I got a chance to pic one of these AD (1976) up here in cs. I really love the bike it is in beautiful shape. It has all the origional Dura Ace components nothing wrong with it at all. The problem is the guy wants around 700 bucks for it. I think the bike is really nice but with the way my funding is I might need to liquidate the bike after a while (being self employed can have some dry spells). So I really need a bike I can recoup my money on. So all I am asking is how much do these bikes typically go for. Only asking because I cant find a comparable ebay or cl add. Thank you very much and I will be sure to post pics of this beauty if I get it.

Is this it? I called about this one and got a real song and dance. I walked away because I think it's overpriced by about 1/2. Selling price is "..$695".

The seller talks like trader who ran across what appears to be a nice bike but all he knows about it he got off the internet. He tried to sell me on the rarity of the chainrings. I couldn't get a straight answer about anything. The guy just wants to talk AT you, not have a meaningful, informative conversation
My guess is he picked it up cheaply and wants to make his fortune on it. If it sells quickly it will be to someone who is emotional about it. If it doesn't sell in a week I bet he will take a fair offer of $300-400.
There's a 60 cm version of this bike hanging in a LBS that can be had for asking price of $500. Even that's too precious for me.
At these prices they are investments.
If you've laid hands on it and approve of its condition, if it fits you, etc. it may be worth a bit more.

I've been on the lookout for one for a while. I've admittedly got a soft spot for the AD (I have an Inter-10 from 1980 that rides like a dream, barring a sticky jockey wheel on the Huret RD). If I were in your position, and if the bike fits, I'd see if the seller were willing to take ~$550 and go from there. It's not a steal, but nothing this nice usually is. All in all it's probably a fair, if a little inflated, price.
Here's one on ebay (something you don't usually see) with a starting bid of $600 and a reserve:

Yeah, that is the one Afilado and kbjack that is the same bike. You are absolutely right about the guy AF that is the impression I got from him on email correspondence. I offered him 300 for it and he talked about how rare it was for a while.
Still it is a nice bike and in my size but he is asking to much. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something about the bike before I let the oppurtunity pass.
Hope to run into you riding sometime.

If the bike we're talking about is the one on cl/ebay, I'd feel a little less confident about the price. The chrome is fairly lackluster (though doesn't look chipped or beat up) and those aero bars make me mad for some reason. Also, I'd want a full run down of parts--"everything else is dura ace" usually means, "I haven't bothered to check."

The Vent Noir (Black Wind) was not a limited production bike.
A rare one would be the mixte model.

I'd easily offer $500 (slowly). Might pay more. I LOVE Puch A-D's. Way underrated and seldom seen/ridden. I have a custom frame A-D made for some team or other in 1981. They never showed up to get them - so...my gain and cheap. Similar but different geometry than Vent Noir or Inter 10. All the Puch's with Reynold 531 frames are great!
