Big Tubulars?

Has anyone tried the larger section tubulars that are (not cheaply!) available? Dugast and Vittoria lists a few 27 mm width tires, usually called Roubaix or Paris-Roubaix. Plus there are a few diamond-tread Tufo 28 mm and 30 mm available for CX on a dry course. I imagine a brisk comfy ride!

not yet but I'm going to have to find out.
My fiamme Red rims for my Zieleman appear too wide for the D'Allesandro tubulars I bought
from s70rguy. I'll probably look for a 22mm tire 25mm the widest.
I do have some NOS Clement Paris-Roubaix tubulars but I have to send them off to
Tire Alert in Fla to have basetape replaced.

I have the 28mm Tufos. The ride is cushy, but not fast. I've never had a flat with them.

What pressure do you run? They seem to have low pressure specs.

I never put more than 85 pounds in them.

What's the advantage of a wide tire if you're going to run high pressure?

They look like this. The sidewalls are turning darker and darker.

I agree about not running the pressure up too high, I've learned othat on my 28C Conti Gators. But there's for sure a too soft point too.
