Should i buy this Frejus?
for $700 USD
I found this bike for sale online, its a "Vintage Frejus Italian Road Bike, This is a first generation from the 60s and is VERY RARE. THis bike was completely stripped degreased polished regreased and rebuilt, this bike is ALL ORiginal except for the brake levers. This bike have Campagnolo Nuovo Record front and rear deraileurs, Cranks, pedals headset, and cable guides. This is a gorgeous collectors item"
here are the pics he's got of it.

I've seen that ad up for a while and have often considered buying it. the only thing that stops me is that the frame is at least one size too small for me. I have no idea if the price is fair or not, but the bike just looks so nice...

i like that its still a geared bike, i would like to change it to a fixed gear, but knowing that if i wanted to ride it geared i could always switch back.
i'm having a hard time finding a bike, i'm not too knowledgeable about road bikes, i know somewhat about mountain bikes, but have moved to the city, where a decent mountain bike would get stolen for parts.
i currently ride a trek singletrack 930 that my cousin gave to me for free when he got a new bike. its front shock doesn't move, and only the front brake works as of now, i plopped some road tires on it, but i'm kind of looking to get into road biking/fixed gear riding.
any help on what what's what with road bikes, or what to look for when buying, what to stay away from. any advice is appreciated.
thanks.

It is very nice, though in the times that I have seen this example before, I never could get myself to consider it a $700 bike.
In fact, I can't say that I've ever found the Legnanos to be too exiting for the prices they bring - I once unearthed a horridly maintained Legnano Gran Premio frameset from the local bike shop, and despite the Campag 1010B dropouts and chrome lugs, I had my doubts about it. The flat, boxy pattern of the headlugs were particularly unimpressive.
Lug points weren't particularly nicely done either, and the fork crown tabs looked positively cheap/pathetic (take your pick).
P.S.: Front brake is missing the domed washer behind the fork crown on the example you're looking at.
