Identify a campy group
 

I purchased this on eBay. Anyone know what it is?
I'm planning on using it on the UO8/09 frame you id'd for me. The bb is english threaded, so it won't fit.
Any ideas on how to able to use the crankset? Can I 'borrow' the bb cups (if they're french threaded) from the red PH8 frame and find a spindle and bearings to fit?

The derailleurs look like Victory/Triomhpe. The crank might be older. This isn't the best place to get Campy specific info. Try Campy Only http://www.campyonly.com/phpBB2/index.php Good luck

since the BB is BSC (English) you have a chance that the spindle (which will be sized for a 68mm BB shell) might fit a FR BB shell (also 68mm). Worth a "dry-fitting" to find out.
Edit, but the cups in that Mixte are for a cottered crank, not sure how those might mate up with cotterless BB stuff. maybe OK maybe not...time to consult Sheldon or somebody who's BTDT

2)&3) Yes, you can the BB cups from another French-threaded bike in your UO-8. The bearing size (1/4") is standard, regardless of threading. The spindle is the thing that you will have to figure out. French cups are typically thin walled, so a normal British spindle, or one with a "3" prefix, will have the bearing shoulders too far apart. What you can do is use a "5" series spindle, typically found in Italian bikes with a wider (70mm) bottom bracket shell, or another French one (TA, Stronglight etc.) which have the shoulders further apart. They are getting harder to find though, so be prepared to do some scouring of used bike shops, other forum members, online etc. The other option is to get one of the great Edco French-threaded cartridge bottom brackets that Velo Orange sells. Be warned though, they are pricey!

Thanks everyone. I tried dry fitting the spindle in the U08. It is definitely too long. I may just use these campy parts on my Univega Super Ten that's being converted to a city bike and look for a nice used Stronglight or TA crankset with bb for the U08. I also need to take the U08 to my LBS to make sure it is french threaded and not swiss (it has a right side cup, but not a left) before I proceed with the bb. I bought the campy stuff because I simply couldn't resist ;-) It is very attractive and functioning.

Concur, first-gen Triomphe. Might work best if you use a Campag adaptable hanger with the RD if you mount it to the UO-8. It'll likely sit forward of the spot it would usually sit if it were on a conventional hanger.

The 121mm Edco bottom bracket sold by Velo Orange is too long for that crank.

I'd try to keep the spindle that came with the crank, since it's the right length and offset. I'm not sure that's a thick-walled cupset you have, but it's hard to tell in the picture. If it turns out that you need thick walls, look for a set of rifled 35 X 1 Campagnolo Nuovo Record cups. They have thick walls. I see them all the time on eBay and have bought some myself.

Triomphe uses thin cups.
