my 3speed "click"

for months i talk about how i own these 3speed bikes and now i wanted to share with you. sorry for the bad pictures, but it was hella raining and i won't get anoth chance to get down here to this part of my collection in a while.

my 60's steyr clubsman 3speed. neighbor of mine had alot of these old euro 3speeds and gave them to me. rough, but a good future project.

my 68' raleigh superbee 3speed. rescued from the county landfill years ago and now rests in my shop.

an old early 60's austrian built jc higgins 3speed. ratty but not bad for free. put on a sachs dreigang 3speed coaster combo for simpler operations.

67' western flyer 3speed. future project bike. twist grip sa shifting, need to find a chainguard. also rescued from the salvage yard.

my 79' columbia clipper 3speed conversion klunker cruiser. my first conversion from a single speed. this bike is for all weather and i even do some trail riding with it. rides phat.

hope you guys like the bikes.

Nice collection. I was never really into the three speed thing, but recent garage sale finds have changed that. I'm now up to four. Time to unload some.

Love that collection. Does that JC Higgins run 26" wheels or 27"?
I like the idea of a 3 speed klunker with 26x2.125" tires.
Thanks for sharing pics.

the jch runs regular 26x 1 3/8 tires and i was actually lucky enough to find a complete sachs dreigang torpedo 3speed coaster unit to retro fit it with. suprisingly lightweight and always ridable. the raleigh is really a diamond in the rough and all original minus seat i think and the tires, but not rims. oem raleigh rims back in the day were really built. but my personal favorite is the "big red machine" 3speed conversion. the frame and chainguard said columbia clipper, but it looked too new. ditched the freakishly wide stock rims it came with that had a suntour rea coaster, a huge fattie front hub and like motercycle guage spokes. frankinsteined a 67' s.a aw rebuilt in the rear chain stays, put on a set of cheap sidepulls, northroad (am i right?) handle bars and some beafy brake levers from an old 80's mountain bike. this bike has been my commuter, my trail rider off road, a 5speed derailleured klunker between current conversion, and now... the big red machine.

the western flyer needs a chainguard and general rebuilding. thanks for your replies and glad to share the passion.
