Dura Ace Shifter/derailler compatability?

My older serotta has dura ace 7400 7 speed deraillers and the shifters were changed to Ultegra 600 sti. The left shifter is not working and needs replacement. Will any of the 2 ring/8 speed sti shifters work (7400, 600, 6400) or should I go with exactly what I currently have?

I think a double L shifter would work fine. As far as I know, the distance between front rings is the same. Often, alone L shifter is pretty cheap, too.
