I hope the "social network" steps up and steps on Rat Fink. PM him or send emails to his address please. He needs to do the right thing, no excuses. This is what ruins fair-trading communities.

Just don't violate guidelines when you do this, and if he doesn't, don't trade with him any more. ALso, everyone remember that we don't make any money off the marketplaces and the risks are more or less the same as Craig's List, except we are a much smaller community and limited to registered members or premium members for some aspects. BF, as an organization isn't a party to any transactions, and terms are between our members. I'll do what I can, within very narrow limits if a real problem comes up, but again, those limits are very narrow as to what options I really have. If we have a member that abuses too much, for example and I get a lot of verifiable complaints, I can remove their access to all of the Marketplace forums quite easily.

Sorry for the faux pas earlier.
What I have: Complete dia-compe cantilever brake set with kool stop pads, dia compe brake levers in very good condition, SR pedals and sturmey archer straps in excellent condition, a suntour cyclone II triple RD, Suntour clamp on DT shifters of which I am unsure of the model, but they came with cyclone derailleurs.
Things I want: A saddle (racing style), a high quality 27.2 seat post, a high quality 110-130mm stem, 57-58cm frames maybe... offers?

Mostly Mischief
I understand that this sub-forum is not here for me (a non paying member) to blatantly sell my paraphernalia. So much is clear.
But if I universally ask our member base for part X, and mention, at the bottom of my exhaustive list of trade items that I will consider throwing in some cash, well, is this innocent comment also against these rules?

Soooooo....
ISO:
-74bcd chainring, around 26t (or lower), and I'd prefer to have the bolts as well

EXAMPLE 1:
ISO: Shimano Dura Ace 7400 FD
Because I didnt list anything for trade one would assume that I'm willing to pay cash.
EXAMPLE 2:
ISO: Shimano Dura Ace 7400 FD
Have: Campy Athena FD, Suntour low flange hubs, etc, green things.
This, as far as I know is prohibited. Offering cash or any slang variant of it is prohibited. Heck, 'etc' could be interpreted as meaning cash.

Correct, it is against the rules. I don't care what you arrange via PM, just stay under the radar so we don't have to see it.

I think ISO in itself implies that your willing to pay cash for an item. Keep in mind that this is a ISO/trade thread NOT a WTB thread.
EXAMPLE 1:
ISO: Shimano Dura Ace 7400 FD
Because I didnt list anything for trade one would assume that I'm willing to pay cash.

I'm moving to Chicago (i'll be commuting on my red schwinn voyageur during decent weather and my frakenbike miyata fixed gear during the winter, look out!) from central Illinois this summer and am currently purging my bike garage, only taking stuff I'll definitely use or as back ups. These are items that are still usable, just not for me. Some stuff is in dirty shape, but functional. I will be incommunicado from june 9-july 6th-ish, just as a forewarning. If you see something, email me at kalifornsky at gmail . com and we can work it out.
