Its double welded aluminum ala Cannondale. The second pass is a smooth cosmetic pass that is filed to look nice, and it does. If that breaks the uniqueness aspect consider that it has a pretty neat internal seat post clamp. Great looking bike for sure but I am a Cannondale guy (at the moment) so smooth welded aluminum always looks good to me.

It's one of the numbered models, 974, 754, 564. Not sure which as they were all the same except componentry I think.

Right you are, that bumps it to a 754 or 974. I saw a darker blue inside the hole in the brake bridge - I recently had an original 974 and observed the color to be a lighter metallic blue.
I'm going to call it a 754.

Dark blue? I recall seeing a 684, I think, in dark blue with white letters....just guessing. Either way, the better frame, as there were only a couple of differences in the frames (forks and the dropouts)....very tempting frame, especially with the seat post...

frames/bike for trade
first up we have a late night, possibly slightly intoxicated, impulse Ebay score.
i threw out what i thought was a low offer, even though the bike wasn't close to my size i figured i could use it as trade material. i wake up the next morning and find out that my offer has been excepted!!... and that the listing was only for the frame and fork... not such a great deal any more
A Ross Signature 294 frame and fork
Ishiwata 024 double butted frame tubes / tange fork
61.5cm seat tube ctc 58.5cm top tube ctc
the frame is in very good shape but has some minor paint scratches, nothing heavy or deep and should buff right out
next is ether an 86 or 87 centurion le mans rs in excellent condition. it has the shamino light action setup with indexed 6 speed rear. Araya bronze anodized rims w/suzie sealed bearing hubs. low miles, new bontrager bar tape
Tange 2 frame, 58cm seat tube ctc 57cm top tube ctc
looking for a lugged steel mid to late 80s road bike/frame with a 55cm-56cm top tube and down tube posts
preferably Japaneses made but open to all. mid level or better.
With the lemans i am willing to do a frame fork trade or the complete bike. i would love to find a centurion or fuji just a little smaller.

NEEDED/WTB: an unusual sized headset; the kind used for austrian-made sears 3 speeds; the diameter is not 30 or 32, but oddly enough close to 30.8 mm
please, this worthy frame needs a donor so it can get back on the road
any help or leads are greatly appreciated thanks

I am ISO:
-Campagnolo Nuovo Record crankset, headset, and bottom bracket. The BB doesn't need to be NR, just needs to work with the cranks.
-Frame pump. Something that'll work with two pegs on the bottom of a TT (pictures can be provided). The TT itself is 58cm, the pegs are around 54cm apart. It needs to be metal bodied.
-New Campagnolo brake pads for old style holders
Currently most importantly ISO two brake spacers, the kind for a curved fork crown. The thinner and smaller the better. They look like these:
I have lots and lots of stuff including just briefly:
-Campagnolo Icarus RD sans pulleys
-Campagnolo C-Record DT shifters that ratchet like Simplex retrofrictions
-Ideale 80 saddle with flayed sides, something for a beater or a leather project?
-Polished CB (GB?) stem, 110mm, 26 clamp
-Take off parts including Schwinn Approved centerpulls (long reach), Shimano DT shifters with cool hoods, Weinnmann brake levers.
-Other stuff. Lots of it. Including other stuff. Let me know what you need.

Also looking for Araya or Ukai tubular rims, 36 hole and/or Sunshine Pro Am hubs. I have one Araya Aero 4 tubular rim that I'm trying to match.
I have a Wolber Super Champion Aubisque tubualr rim that is looking for a good home. It's currently attached to a Dura Ace rear hub.

Not exactly what you're seeking Scottyryder, but I do have a very vintage set of Ambrosio Olympic Champion tubie rims in 32h that have never been laced or seen a tire. I think they must have been used just for pre-stretching tires or something because the glue surface on both rims was covered with masking tape and some nummy wrote '32h' in black marker by the valve hole on both rims. The eyelets are oxidized and the rims have what is usually described as 'shop wear', but nothing that would daunt a semi-serious polisher. I've decided I'll never do anything with them so if you have any interest, just LMK.
