The reason I say it's Oria is that it has Oria TT 0.9 stickers on the blades and no rifling in the steerer, but no guarantee it is what it says (tho I believe it). It's also a pretty *beefy* fork (that is: no lightweight), keep that in mind.

I'm really not picky and it sounds like it would work. I'm converting an old and beatup Bridgestone 400 to a single speed cross bike so weight is not an issue. Let me know what you are looking for.

Looking for a 50s/60s Italian saddle; Italia, Record, Milano, etc.

I have some perfect and possibly NOS Sheffield pedals and some other interesting bits.

Have: Brooks Conquest Honey Saddle, darkened from use. Very good used condition, some minor scuffs from leaning against trees, etc. This is a about 8 years old, has been tightened about one or two turns in its lifetime. This discontinued model is a Brooks Professional with a single rail sprung frame, painted black, large copper rivets. Pics available if interested.

Want: Ridable/usable Fujita Professional saddle with a reasonably decent appearance.

I could also use an non suspension hybrid frame that accepts 700c wheels.

I found a hybrid suspension bike with lockout. The problem is the bike is in to good a shape to cannibalize. I'm still looking for a cyclocross style frame and fork.

No cash offers in the for trade threads, please. I just deleted one. Ask the guys in SS/FG if I'm serious about this, by the way.....

I shut their thread down for a week because of it. I'm not lecturing the great percentage of you that abide by the terms, just letting the individuals know that do do it.

Last ditch effort before I toss the match....:(

Seeking 170mm TA Pro 5 Vis left crankarm.

Please PM me if you have one without it's drive side mate.

Looking for a 36h front rim to match this one (doesn't have to be an EXACT match, brand is unimportant) I would just like something with the same profile, and same brownish anodized color would be great! Its kind of hard to tell in the picture, but it does have a very slight "aero" ridge down the center of the rim. Oh, and double walled too, please.

I'm confused. We can't offer to buy stuff for cash here? Or just not sales listings?

No cash in the for trade threads, and that's been policy forever. Cash postings go in the Marketplace, in either For Sale or want to Buy.

I can understand why the issue might be confusing as the title of this thread contains "WTB" as an option. Perhaps the "WTB" should be deleted from the title for greater clarity about the limits of what can be posted here.

exactly! "wanted to buy" implies exactly that.

bigbossman 04-06-09 10:50 PM

The real problem that will never get addressed is that we, as C&V forum members, have no vehicle that allows for the buying and selling of parts amongst ourselves. The For Sale forum doesn't work for us, as that is mostly used for modern stuff and is of no interest. Conversely, what we have to offer to each other is of no interest to the other forums.

Frankly, I just sold a bunch of vintage Campy parts and some nice vintage (Brooks, San Marco) saddles on eBay. I would have rather sold them to forum members, but you don't allow it here and I'm not going to waste my time posting in the "for sale" forum or trying to put links in my sig line.

rotharpunc 04-06-09 10:57 PM

I wonder if it would be worth it to open a small message board somewhere that we can exchange stuff amongst ourselves?

Oh, yes, that would be great!! Someone out there must know more about such an option?

I dare say the forum software should be able to support a C&V For Sale subforum that would retain the contributing member requirement (as with the regular FS forum).

P.S.: If "junk at the top of the forum" is an issue, Numbskull of The Day is an excellent candidate to un-sticky.

freeforums.org is a popular one. Easthill also has a small forum, I'm not sure where its hosted though.

rotharpunc 04-06-09 11:13 PM

I like kurt's idea better even, but hasnt this been tried before?

It's been asked for several times, and rejected. "They" don't want to do it.

Actually, this thread is a compromise from when I originally suggested it a year or two ago. Koffee Browm was a moderator at the time, and I remember her being very hard-ass from the get-go about it - bordering on uncivil. (Sure glad she's gone.)

rotharpunc 04-06-09 11:21 PM

well, if anyone is so inclined, a board could be set up a freeforums.org or proboards.com, perhaps with new user approval so we don't get a bunch of scammers and spammers, just the usual C&Vers allowed

The idea has been tossed around for a few years now - never got off the ground to my knowledge.
