ISO: Cones for a pair of Maillard 500 hubs (front and back), including seals.

Have: Tons of old parts; ask and I should be able to come up with something.

cudak888 11-06-09 10:36 AM

This is for a friend:

NEED: Peugeot PX-10 fork for 56cm (center-to-center) frame. Headtube length is 140mm, which would suggest that a steerer with a Nuovo Record headset (42cm stack) would have to be around 182mm minimum, give or take a bit.

I don't know all of what he has in trade, but I do know he has some nice 5-speed freewheels (mostly corncob and half-step blocks).

This Soma front rack was mentioned on another list today:

Seems like a bargain.

ISO: Bottom clamps/cradles for a 2 bolt Campagnolo seat-post (circa 1984). The post is a 27.2 if that makes a difference.

I really like the seatpost I have, it's a fluted post with the Bianchi "B" milled into it, and will look sweet on the bike if I can find the parts that fit. Would be willing to buy a whole seatpost, just for the cradles, but it would have to be a ratty one, the Ebay ones run $30-150 + shipping. That's a lot for a couple of little cradles!

I really don't have much bicycle gear to trade (I live in a condo, any extra parts get sold or given away to the local bike Co-op).

Haha, I feel crazy looking for one, but...

ISO: Cottered crankset/spindle. Single chainring.

I can offer up some stuff, I have several boxes of random parts/derailleurs/parts in the garage.

23skidoo 11-09-09 12:06 PM

If I can dig it out Nick, I've got one that's yours for the price of shipping. I think I may have all the parts for the bb except bearings. I'll check through my stuff if you're interested.

PLEASE, SOMEONE, HELP ME! I have a bike that's completely done, except for the gosh darn nuts and washers for the hub! EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS!

It's ridiculous. Someone lend me a hand.

-Nick

Begging the obvious question but why did you buy a Sturmey-Archer 3 speed hub without nuts and bolts? I have a 3-speed internal hub from that Hawthorne...will any of that work? I have no clue who made it unless I stare at awhile but maybe...

Mine is c.1960 or 70ish, likely pre-72 as the chainguard style changed by then. 26x1 3/8" rim, refresh me on your bike. It's the kind with the 3 3 3 handle grip shifter.

Well, there's lots of reasons that could have happened: The C&V bike could have arrived without the bolts. The bolts could have been stripped. Maybe the hub was only $1 w/o bolts. Who knows?

In this case, it's not my bike, the washers were both cracked, the bolts were stripped, although the axle was okay. It needed new parts.... I don't know if I"ll still need them though, another forum member may have some... I'll PM ya if I need 'em.

^if 23skidoo's doesn't work out, you can have the one off my Magneet project: TDC, British, 9/16" pedal holes, 52/40, everything good except the spindle has some pitting. Even has a chrome chainguard.

Nick you may want to consider Alan's offer since you are both in California the shipping will clearly be cheaper and mine has definitely seen better days. I can't tell what the make is, but it's got a little stamp of three crossed arrows pointing up.

I put this in the saddle swap thread too but I'm looking for a concor lite or a regal. May consider something else too like a turbomatic or a fizik aliante.
